J.C. & Angelina Grimshaw
Apr19
Brother and sister duo J.C. & Angelina Grimshaw have worked together for more than a decade. From their Isle of Wight base they have travelled extensively, playing festivals and clubs as far afield as Russia, Japan and the USA, working with/supporting high profile acts including Dr John, Buddy Guy and Van Morrison. Bluesnights is thrilled to have them in Dorchester! Don't miss them!
Review - Banbury Blues Festival 2008 »
"This festival gets better and better; I was there for the evening and despite strong competition, notably Dino Baptiste, my reason for being there was JC and Angelina. JC is an amazingly talented musician and plays various guitars, mandolin and harp. Angelina plays acoustic rhythm guitar and has an exquisite voice. She sounds totally authentic when singing songs by the likes of Bessie Smith and Memphis Minnie. As an acoustic duo, JC and Angelina are unmatched. They have a wide range of influences (country, jazz, blues, etc.) but have their own distinctive style. Despite the competition elsewhere in the building, the room was packed and the audience went away happy. Catch JC and Angelina when you can. Whatever your preferred style of blues, you'll love them - I promise!" Max Haymes (8 March 2008).

Gig Nights
Season 2007-2008The Bluesnight's season runs from September to June of each year.
Advance booking (01305-266926) tickets are all priced at £10.50 each (£5.25 under 18's and students with NUS card). At the door, tickets are priced at £11.50 each (£5.75 under 18's and students with NUS card). Doors/bar open at 7.30pm. Performances begin approximately 8.00pm and generally finish around 10.30pm.
The auditorium seats 90 in comfort (plus a limited number permitted to stand), so tickets can (and often do) sell quickly. So, our advice is to book ahead if you can.
We also hold a raffle and an audience draw with great prizes, plus the usual banter and fun that makes Bluesnights such a great night out.
